3. Whatís the difference between natural tile and ceramic tiles?

Ceramic tiles are man-made while natural tiles come from nature. When it comes to durability, natural stone tiles just need minimal restoration if scratched or stained while ceramic tiles need to be replaced totally.

4. Why is granite best for kitchen and bathroom countertops?
Granite is the hardest natural stone, so it makes sense to use it for kitchen countertops wherein lots of activities expose the stone to pressure and acidic substances like vinegar, lemon, alcohol, etc. Other equipment like kitchen appliances, knives, and pots may also cause scratching. Depending on the method and difficulty of their processing, natural stones can vary in prices. Shipping also contributes to the price difference.

The bigger the stone, the harder it is to process and transport. Larger stones also have a higher amount of wasted parts compared to whatís used thatís it is more expensive.

Choose lighter colors for smaller rooms because this would help make the room appear larger. Dark colors help make a room look cozy and intimate. Other patterns and shades can help highlight or accent areas of the room.

8. What can I expect from variations of the stones?
Each stone can display variations in color, shade, and pattern. Donít be surprised if one stone youíre buying looks different from the other. Granite stones do not show much variation compared to slates.

9. How do I know which size is the right size?
Smaller spaces should use smaller-sized tiles while larger floor areas should use bigger tiles.

10. How do I take care of my natural stone?

Natural stones are easy to maintain and only require cleaning with the use of warm water and mild liquid soaps. Do not use acidic cleaners or strong chemicals.

11. What is an impregnator sealer and How does it help stones?

An impregnator sealer has microscopic balls of silicone that stick to the crevices of stones. They become a part of the stone that is permanent and waterproof. After application, a sealer should be applied every one or two years.
